Belverdale Construction successfully completed a comprehensive renovation of this Victorian residence designed by Material Studio Architects. The design featured a seamlessly integrated extension that connected the main house to the garden. The project also included a basement conversion, transforming the space into a functional cinema, games room, utility area, and shower room.
The interior design, executed by the homeowners, aimed to create a luxurious retreat reminiscent of a high-end holiday home. A striking feature is the charred timber cladding on the side extension, which contrasts beautifully with the black-framed, curved-header aluminium windows overlooking the newly landscaped garden. The monochromatic exterior palette complements the surrounding greenery, while the interior design, including a warm tonal kitchen by Kemp Kitchens, adds a touch of sophistication.
The large 3 meter high windows were welcomed by the conservation team at Manchester Council, and provided no object to the first attempt.
The interior aspects were driven by the the client, Rodem Interiors with close assistance from Chris at Material Studio Architects and the main contractor Steve Scudder. The collaborative approach has made this project a great success, and with the addition of project management by Dave Whitney of Sixteen Real Estate.
Material Studio Architects played a key role in the project, providing architectural design, planning, and oversight throughout the build. Their collaboration with the homeowners and Belverdale Construction ensured the successful realization of the vision.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the homeowners, Liz and Steve, for their trust and confidence in Material Studio Architects. We also acknowledge the exceptional work of Belverdale Construction and the talented photographer, Paul Karalius who was commission for these images.
